From the east via Ohio
- (Cleveland):
- take the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90) west to I-475
- take I-475 around Toledo to US-23
- take US-23 north to Ann Arbor
From the east via Canada
- (Ontario)
- cross either at Sarnia/Port Huron or Detroit/Windsor
- take I-94 west to Ann Arbor.
