William Gehring's research concerns the cognitive neuroscience of executive control and self-regulation, with a focus on the functions of the medial frontal cortex in action monitoring and evaluative processing. Specific research includes event-related potential studies of the development of error detection and reward processing. Additional
work concerns dysfunctions in these processes in childhood
obsessive-compulsive disorder.
