Dr. Kail’s research concerns cognitive development in childhood and adolescence, focusing on the causes and consequences of developmental change in speed of information processing. He is the editor of Child Development Perspectives, an SRCD journal that publishes brief reviews of emerging lines of inquiry. He is author of Scientific Writing for Psychology, Children and Their Development, and (with John C. Cavanaugh), Human Development: A Life-Span View.
