Kids want input before parents share about them online

Soccer games, family vacations and reports of good grades are OK for social media sharing. Posts with baby photos or references to punishments and significant others — not so much.

This is what children said when asked what their parents can share about them online, according to research from the School of Information.

The researchers surveyed 331 pairs of parents and children about what personal information parents should and should not share about their children on social media sites. The children, ages 10-17, described a range of preferences about what parents may disclose about them.  More….
